CHAPTER 2.03 - THE SATYR
The morning after the feast is colder and on awakening Wolfram hears cries of alarm from the village women. When he investigates the disturbance he sees that all the men-folk are searching and the Aranbergh sons (hunter/rangers) reveal that colven foot prints are imprinted in the snow. The trail leads to a cottage, up its wall, over the roof and down its side. Then the tracks lead across open ground between building and end at the entrance to the communal barn.
Lord Crosstenmarch is summoned and he attends the scene wth curiosity. He agrees for Wolfram to follow another trail discovered at the edge of the village. Wolfram travels with the Aranberghs to the nearby mine and then further around the lake to large mossy rocks that conceal the entrance to a massive cave. It is there that they encounter the Satyr and its beguiling pan pipe magic.
Wolfram challenges and reasons with it before the Satyr departs, after revealing something of is own nature.
